In Japanese it is called キセキレイ / Ki-sekirei, meaning “yellow wagtail.” It is usually seen walking along rocks, river edges, streams, ponds, and wet paths while constantly wagging its tail.In Japan, the Grey Wagtail is strongly connected with clear flowing water, especially mountain streams, river valleys, and mid-to-upper river areas. It may also appear around ponds, lakes, parks, and city rivers, especially outside the breeding season.
