Narcissus Flycatcher キビタキ Scientific name: Ficedula narcissina The Narcissus Flycatcher is one of Japan’s most beautiful summer forest birds. In Japanese it is called キビタキ / Kibitaki. The male is very colorful, with bright yellow-orange underparts, black upperparts, a yellow eyebrow, and a white wing patch. The female is much plainer, mostly olive-brown above and pale below, giving her good camouflage around the nest. In Japan, the Narcissus Flycatcher is a summer visitor. It is often found in broadleaf forests, mixed forests, mountain woods, wooded valleys, parks with mature trees, and forest edges.
