It breeds in much of the Old World, Australasia, and the Atlantic coast of North America.

Great Cormorant カワウ

The Great Cormorant is a large dark waterbird commonly seen around rivers, lakes, reservoirs, wetlands, harbors, and coastal waters in Japan. It has a long neck, strong hooked bill, dark glossy plumage, and a powerful body built for swimming and diving.

This bird dives underwater to catch fish, using its feet to swim with speed and control. After feeding, it is often seen standing on rocks, posts, or tree branches with its wings spread open to dry. Great Cormorants may gather in groups, especially at roosting and feeding sites.
