The Japanese wagtail (Motacilla grandis) is a species of bird in the pipit and wagtail family Motacillidae. It is native to Japan and Korea. The Japanese wagtail is about 20 cm long. The sexes look similar; they have white underparts and black upperparts, throats, and backs. Their supercilia are also white. They have black beaks and dark grey legs and feet. The plumage of a juvenile is greyer than that of an adult.Size: The Japanese Wagtail measures about 19-21 centimeters (7.5-8.3 inches) in length.

主に地上を歩きながら昆虫や小さな無脊椎動物を探して食べます。単独や つがいで行動することが多く、すばやく尾を振りながら活発に採食する姿が よく観察されます。
